If you are not already an active Tri-C student, you must first apply to the college. If you are interested in more than one health careers program, you must submit a separate health careers application for each program. You may only apply to three programs at one time.
This program is designed for individuals interested in entering the fire service to meet civil service entry requirements as a Firefighter 1 and 2 and paramedic. Certification is provided through the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The graduate may function as a firefighter and paramedic on the level required under Ohio Law to provide fire extinguishment and rescue services, basic and advanced medical care under the direction of a physician as well as provide supervision of operations in the fire - emergency services.
A criminal background check must be completed through a program approved source prior to participation in clinical and field experiences in the EMT portion of the program. Tri-C is EMT Nationally Accredited (600596), State of Ohio EMS 认证 (312) and holds a State of Ohio Fire Charter (003).
The main emphasis on this program is to become State of Ohio certified as a Firefighter 1 & 2个和一个护理人员. 13 credit hours devoted to firefighting knowledge and basic skills with the completion of a state written exam and Pro Board Practical Testing. 36 credit hours will be attributed to Ohio EMT Basic and Ohio Paramedic Certification based on the knowledge, 实用的技能, clinical and field experience outlined in the State and National 认证 curriculum. Students will be prepared to obtain certification completing a National Registry of EMTs written and practical exam.

"To prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician , and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels."
